Gerald is survived by his sweetheart Jo Ann, sons, Gerald Jr., Loren and Michael, five grandsons and two granddaugh-ters, brother Edwin Carothers and sisters Lana Tomeo Elaine Sober and Kathy Knack. We will miss his infectious smile, ready laugh and twinkle in his blue eyes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Diego Hospice or Rady's Children's Hospital.
