Bessie M. Herring
Memorial services for Bessie Margaret Herring were held today at Frasier Meadows Chapel.
She was born in Ft. Scott, Kan., on Nov. 7, 1886, and died on Dec. 6 at the age of 90 in Frasier Meadows Manor in Boulder after an extended illness. She married Melvin M. Herring of Ft. Scott in 1918, and the couple moved to Arizona in 1922. Mr. Herring died in 1961. Mrs. Herring moved to Boulder in 1962.
Survivors are her daughter, Joan Keisel, Carmel, Calif.; sister Louise Copping, Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

CAROTHERS, GERALD WADE Gerald Wade Carothers, born January 18, 1942 in Prescott, Arizona, raised in Blanding, Utah, passed away peacefully in San Diego on October 26, 2009. Mr. Carothers served 21 years in the United Stated Navy, Langley Corp. and Altech Electronics. Gerald is survived by his sweetheart Jo Ann, sons, Gerald Jr., Loren and Michael, five grandsons and two granddaugh-ters, brother Edwin Carothers and sisters Lana Tomeo Elaine Sober and Kathy Knack. We will miss his infectious smile, ready laugh and twinkle in his blue eyes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Diego Hospice or Rady's Children's Hospital. There will be a Military Honors service on Tuesday, November 10th, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
